Cozumel has three cruise terminals and they are not near each other. Which one you dock at changes your whole day — how far you are from town, and how far from everything else.

The only pier in town. You come off the ship into San Miguel itself — the waterfront and the shops are a walk, not a taxi. Disney, MSC, Norwegian and the smaller Royal Caribbean ships dock here.

Cozumel has three cruise terminals: Puerta Maya, the International Pier (SSA) and Punta Langosta. Most ships use the same one every call — Carnival ships dock at Puerta Maya, most Royal Caribbean and Celebrity ships at the International Pier, and Disney, MSC and Norwegian at Punta Langosta. Some ships move between piers, so pick yours above and we will tell you what its own record says.
Punta Langosta is downtown — you walk off the ship into San Miguel. Puerta Maya and the International Pier are both about five miles south of town, next to each other, which is a ten minute drive.
Less than the difference between arrival and sailing time. Take off the walk down the gangway, which is about forty five minutes on a big ship, and take off the hour before sailing when you have to be back on board. Most ships leave you between six and nine hours that you can actually use.
Usually one hour before the ship sails. If your ship leaves at 5:00 PM, you need to be back on it at 4:00 PM. It is the single most common mistake — people plan the day to the sailing time and lose an hour they thought they had.
Yes. You do not have to book through the cruise line, and independent tours are normal here. The one thing that matters is being back before all-aboard, because the ship will sail without you. That is why we build every day backwards from your all-aboard time.
It happens, and the piers are miles apart. We check the port authority the day before your tour and message you on WhatsApp with the exact meeting point, so you are never walking to the wrong terminal.
For one or two people on a short hop, often yes. For a family, or for a whole day with several stops, usually not — you pay a new fare each way, each time, and the rate changes with the day. A private vehicle is one price for the whole day, agreed before you travel, and the same driver waits for you.
